Jelly beans: different colors and different flavors; a mixed bag of standards.
My super special fancy business cards are a double-sided printed square with one fold, which provides a notes area for prospecting and networking on the go. I’ll be UNFORGETTABLE.
M&M’s: same chocolate pellet with limited number of candy color coatings.
Well, my greatest strength and greatest weakness can sometimes be the same: I tend to be VERY focused, so sometimes I can get so engrossed in my duties that I work right through lunch!
So with EVERYONE straining to “stand out from the crowd,” you either get the same guts with different candy coatings, or a mixed bag of mass-produced standard flavors. My point? You don’t have INDIVIDUAL anything. Any advice on how to truly stand out instead of re-package?
To add another metaphor: how many ways can you design a bathing suit? Has swim wear truly dumbfounded ANYONE since the year designers introduced the bikini?

Be yourself. Don’t depend on business cards to speak for you.
Take some time and think about who you really are. What you really want to say. Then do it and say it. Sounds simple, doesn’t it?
But it’s about work. You’ve got to work to get your voice heard in the din. But if you keep putting yourself out there, you can do it!
